Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Spreads Holiday Cheer with Toy Express Program
December 9, 2024 – The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the CSX Rail Line and the First Responders Children’s Foundation to bring holiday joy to local children through the annual Toy Express Program.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office distributed toys to children during several events across Seneca County. The initiative, which selects law enforcement agencies nationwide to participate, recognizes the unique role first responders play in connecting with their communities. This year, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was one of 70 agencies chosen for the program.
Sheriff Fredrick W. Stevens expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, noting the impact these gestures can have on young lives:
“Often, our jobs require us to have contact with kids during different and challenging circumstances, so law enforcement is the ideal ambassador to help get toys to the kids who really need them. With CSX Rail Line and the First Responders Children’s Foundation organizations choosing our Office to partner with them, it allows our Deputies to make a difference in a child’s life, which can be a very fulfilling experience. It’s what the holidays are all about!”
The Toy Express Program is a heartwarming tradition that helps first responders deliver holiday cheer to children and families who may be facing difficult times. By working with organizations like CSX and the First Responders Children’s Foundation, the Sheriff’s Office has been able to bring smiles and hope to local children during the holiday season.
Sheriff Stevens also extended his thanks to the program’s partners:
“On behalf of our Sheriff’s Office, I would like to thank the CSX Rail Line and the First Responders Children’s Foundation Organization for choosing our Office to partner with and certainly for assisting us with spreading holiday joy for the children in our community!”
A Community United in Holiday Spirit
