The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway has been awarded about $43.5 million in federal rail funding to rehabilitate its swing bridge over the Maumee River near the Port of Toledo, U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur and U.S. Sen. Jon Husted announced Friday. The work will let the bridge carry heavier modern railcars.
