FBI Joins search for 11-yr old child who went missing on Thursday – Unoccupied boat located near West Sister Island
TOLEDO, Ohio — The FBI has joined the search for an 11-year-old child who went missing Thursday morning near a local marina. Authorities have since recovered a body and located an unoccupied vessel in the area.
Lucas County Sheriff Mike Navarre told WTOL 11 Thursday afternoon that a body was recovered from the water near Meinke Marina, though the individual’s identity has not been confirmed. While an official identity has not been confirmed by the coroner, Navarre said the body appears to belong to the owner of the boat involved in the incident.
According to Navarre, the Coast Guard located the boat near West Sister Island after 1:00 p.m. It was unoccupied when it was found.
