Fostoria Man Airlifted After Stabbing, Suspect Stephen Briggs Charged W/ Felonious Assault

Stabbing Incident Under Investigation in Fostoria

FOSTORIA, Ohio – Authorities from the Fostoria Police Department are looking into a violent stabbing that resulted in serious injuries to one individual.

Details from the official press release indicate that officers were called to a reported disturbance shortly before 5 p.m. in the 200 block of Independence Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and hands.

A male suspect was spotted nearby, still in possession of a knife. Police quickly detained him and provided initial medical assistance to the injured party.

Emergency responders from Fostoria Fire/EMS arrived promptly, transporting the victim to a local hospital. Given the extent of the injuries, the victim was subsequently airlifted to a specialized facility for further treatment. Updates on the victim’s current condition have not been released.

The suspect has been taken into custody and faces charges of Felonious Assault. He is being held at the Hancock County Jail with no bail set at this time. According to records, Stephen Lee Biggs (Fostoria) was booked into HCSO on 11/14/2025 at 10pm. It is apparent that this is the suspect.

Investigators noted that further charges could be added as the inquiry progresses.
