FOSTORIA | Mennel Milling Construction Makes Big Progress, But What About The Splash Pad?
![]()
FOSTORIA | A portion of Findlay Street, from the railroad tracks to the intersection at W. Lytle Street, will be closed on Wednesday morning, February 4th.
This closure is happening amid Mayor Don Mennel’s promise to the community that a splash pad will be built at the old city pool site. The project was delayed for concerning reasons.
After FFP looked into records about the splash pad designs it was discovered that Mayor Mennel never pursued demolition bids and under budged the project by over 1/2 million dollars. In 2025 Don Mennel asked city council to fund an additional $500,000 for the project. I hope we see as much progress in 2026 on the splash pad that we do with the expansion of Mennel Milling.
