Carol A. Chapman, 84, of Fostoria, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
She was born on April 1, 1941 in Tiffin to the late Francis and Ruth (Smith) Kirian. She married Larry Runion and they divorced. She then married Michael Chapman and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula (Nick) Tsantles, Florida, and Lori (Mike) Kitchen, Fostoria; grandchildren, Zach (Emma), Alexis, Morgan, Cory (Tanna), and Casey (Nykia); step-grandchildren, Matt (Claire), Michael (Meghen), Jennifer and Catherine; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Parker, Kyler and Kaden; a brother, Larry (Perryann) Kirian, North Carolina; a sister, Janet Kenner, California; a half sister, Cindy (Dan) Roark; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Michele Murphy.
Carol worked as a department manager at Kmart in Fostoria for 25 years. After retirement from Kmart she worked at the Mennel Milling Company in Fostoria for 16 years. Carol was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, particularly spending time on her patio watching the geese in the pond, the squirrels at the feeder, and planting her flowers each spring. Carol also dearly loved her cat, Callie.
Visitation is 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026 at HOENING & SON FUNERAL HOME, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830 where the funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a funeral luncheon held in the reception area of the funeral home.
