WAYNE, Ohio – A pickup crashed into a Wood County ditch early Monday morning, killing the driver.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Adam McGiffin, 38, of Wayne, was traveling south on Caskie Road around 5 a.m.

He drove through the intersection at Holcomb Rd., hitting the guard rail and then the ditch embankment.

McGiffin was declared dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
