Updated Friday night, Oct. 16: A passenger has died, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. This story first reported serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

MAUMEE — A Toledo woman has died after a three-vehicle crash on Dussel Drive in Maumee on Friday afternoon, Oct. 16, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers identified her as Lisa Robinson, 59, WTOL 11 reported. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

What troopers say happened

Robinson was a passenger in a sedan driven by a 34-year-old Toledo driver heading west on W. Dussel Drive, between Holland Road and Ford Street, the patrol said.

A hatchback driven by a 23-year-old Whitehouse man was going east when its driver lost control, according to troopers. The patrol said the hatchback went into the oncoming lanes and struck the sedan and a third vehicle driven by a 60-year-old Port Clinton man. Earlier Friday, 13 Action News reported that the third vehicle was a pickup truck.

Robinson, the sedan’s driver and the hatchback’s driver were all taken to a hospital, the patrol said. Troopers said the two drivers have serious injuries that are not life-threatening. The Port Clinton driver was treated at the scene.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Road reopened

Dussel Drive was closed for about four hours and has since reopened, WTOL reported. Current road conditions are posted on the Ohio Department of Transportation’s OHGO traffic map.

The Toledo Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, The Blade reported. The patrol has not said what caused the hatchback’s driver to lose control, and no charges had been announced as of Friday night. City information is on the City of Maumee website.
