Today’s Obituary:
Delores A. “Debbie” (Pocs) Sutter, 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, surrounded by family & friends.
She was born on July 1, 1937 in Fostoria to the late John I. and Irene E. (Alexander) Pocs. She married Donald F. Sutter on July 18, 1959 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria and he survives in Toledo.
Surviving are three children, Juliann Sutter, Toledo; Dan Sutter, Rossford and Donald (Kristi) Sutter, Waterville; grandchildren, Cailey (Ryan) Honigford; and two great grandchildren, Lennon & Rory; sister, Irene Hards and niece/goddaughter Beth Stechschulte. She is also survived by the kids she claimed as her own: Maureen Intagliata and Stephen & Kati Meyers; and “grandchildren” Maggie Meyers & Jamie Byrd. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Pocs and John Pocs and brother-in-law William Hards.
Debbie was a 1955 graduate of St. Wendelin High School. She worked as a legal secretary for Attorney Robert Berger and was a secretary at Catholic Charities for 20 years. She was an avid reader, an enthusiastic amateur photographer and author of the original Iron Workers Retirees newsletter.
The funeral mass is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th 2026 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, 323 N. Wood Street, Fostoria, Ohio 44830. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a luncheon in the parish hall at church.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses & aides at Hospice of NW Ohio, especially Alaina, Mandy, Missy, Tonya & Wayne for the exceptional care given while she was in their care.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Wendelin Catholic Church.
