BREAKING | Fire Erupts at Marathon Pipeline in Findlay, OH Destroys Building
![]()
A maintenance shop building at Marathon Pipe Line’s facility on Glessner Avenue in Findlay was destroyed by fire Sunday morning, but no injuries were reported and nearby pipeline and tank infrastructure remained unaffected. Fire officials and the company both say the blaze was fully contained to the single building and all employees were safely accounted for.
What happened
-
Findlay firefighters were dispatched around 9:05 a.m. to Marathon Pipe Line at 709 Glessner Avenue, where they found a maintenance shop heavily involved in fire.
-
Because of the amount of fire showing, crews immediately went into a defensive strategy, and the building’s roof and walls eventually collapsed during the incident.
Damage and containment
-
The fire was confined to the maintenance building, which sits separate from the facility’s pipeline and tankage systems, so Marathon reports those critical structures were not impacted.
-
The building was effectively destroyed, but there were no reported injuries to workers or responders, and all on‑site personnel were accounted for by Marathon.
Marathon’s statement
-
Marathon stated that its personnel worked alongside local firefighters and emphasized that the safety of responders, employees, and the public is the company’s top priority.
-
The company expressed gratitude to the Findlay Fire Department and Findlay Police Department for their rapid response and confirmed that an investigation will determine the cause of the fire.
