PERRYSBURG- Two chain restaurants at Perrysburg’s Levis Commons shopping center have closed, WTOL 11 reported.
Agave and Rye
Agave and Rye closed effective Oct. 21. Epic Brands, which owns the restaurant, said in a statement that it closed because of “circumstances with the landlord” that were out of the company’s control.
A notice from the landlord, Tanger, posted on the door said the locks were changed under Ohio law to secure the space and told the tenant how to get access to the building.
“We’re grateful for the Perrysburg community’s support of the restaurant and for the dedication of our team members there, who we are actively supporting through this transition,” Epic Brands said. The company said Agave and Rye still runs 16 locations across the Midwest and Southeast.
Bob Evans
At the Bob Evans, all of the restaurant’s signs have been removed. A notice on the door tells customers the restaurant is closed and points them to other nearby locations. No reason was posted.
Bob Evans restaurants are owned by private equity firm 4×4 Capital, which bought the restaurant side of the brand in February. Tanger, which owns shopping centers across the country, bought Levis Commons earlier this year from its original owners, Hill Partners.
Neither company has said what will go into the two spaces. Levis Commons is in the City of Perrysburg.
