CYGNET — A Cygnet man has been indicted on charges accusing him of sexual abuse involving three young children, the Sentinel-Tribune reported Friday, Oct. 16.

A Wood County grand jury returned the indictment Oct. 7 against Robert Wesley Woodruff, 45. He is charged with two counts of rape, both first-degree felonies, and four counts of gross sexual imposition, all third-degree felonies.

What the charges allege

The charges cover a period that began in the spring of 2025 and ran through March 19, according to the newspaper’s account of the indictment. One rape count involves a child who was 5 years old at the time, and the other involves a child younger than 13. The gross sexual imposition counts involve three children.

FFP is not publishing any details that could identify the children.

Released on bond

Woodruff posted a $50,000 cash bond and was released from jail, the Sentinel-Tribune reported. His release conditions include GPS monitoring, a one-mile exclusion zone around the alleged victim and an order to have no contact with minors.

FFP could not immediately confirm whether Woodruff has an attorney or when his next court date is. Felony cases from Wood County grand juries are heard in Wood County Common Pleas Court, and public case records are kept by the Wood County Clerk of Courts. More county information is available on the Wood County official website.

An indictment is a formal accusation, not a finding of guilt. Woodruff is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court.
