BOWLING GREEN — A Bowling Green woman arrested after a downtown fight over the weekend is accused of assaulting a police officer and a nurse while she was being checked at Wood County Hospital, according to Bowling Green police reports cited by BG Independent News.
Downtown fight, then the ER
On Saturday, Oct. 17, officers were called to City Lot 1 in the 100 block of East Court Street for a fight in progress. Police said a downtown camera showed Alexus Herron, 30, of Bowling Green, hitting a person in the back of the head, and that she was too intoxicated to care for herself.
Herron was taken to Wood County Hospital to be medically cleared before going to jail. Police say that while in an exam room she threw medical equipment to the floor, hit an officer in the arm and face area, and kicked a nurse in the stomach.
She is charged with disorderly conduct, fighting, being unable to care for herself due to intoxication, disorderly conduct in a health care facility, assault, and assault on a health care worker, police said. She was taken to the Wood County Jail.
Separate bar incident
On Sunday, Oct. 18, police arrested Kadance Medeiros, 18, of Elyria, on an assault charge. Police said she slapped a man in the face and pepper-sprayed him in a downtown bar after he reportedly called her an offensive name. She was taken to the Wood County Jail.
Charges are accusations, not findings of guilt. Herron and Medeiros are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
More information about the department is available from the City of Bowling Green.
