Tiffin Man Due in Court June 9 for Final Pre-Trial in Child Sex Sting Case

FREMONT, Ohio — Ronald E. Callahan, 68, of Tiffin, is scheduled to appear in Fremont Municipal Court on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. for a final pre-trial hearing.

Callahan faces a fifth-degree felony charge of attempted importuning stemming from a March child sex sting operation. Prosecutors have offered him a plea deal, contingent on review of evidence. The June 9 hearing is expected to determine whether the case proceeds to trial or resolves with a plea agreement.

Callahan has pleaded not guilty, demanded a jury trial, and remains free on a $5,000 bond with no contact with minors.
