TOLEDO — Toledo police SWAT officers and crisis negotiators were at a home in the 6200 block of Judge Drive in west Toledo late Thursday night, Oct. 22, in what police are treating as a barricaded suspect situation. Police asked the public to stay clear of the area.
Officers were called to the home just before 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the Toledo Police Department. Sgt. Mohammad Nasser, the department’s public information officer, told WTOL 11 that officers went there after reports of shots fired and a suicide threat. 13 Action News (WTVG) reported that police were called for a disturbance with possible shots fired.
SWAT and negotiators are working to “safely resolve the situation,” Nasser told WTOL 11. “We ask the public to stay clear of the area,” he said.
WTVG reported from the scene that the standoff was near Rachel Road and Judge Drive, in the neighborhood between Dorr Street and Hill Avenue.
