Micah Hyde’s Imagine for Youth Foundation brought big smiles to Bigelow Hill Elementary during a special “Kicks for Kids” event, where 100 students received brand-new Nike shoes along with socks, hats, shirts, and books. The giveaway focused on third- through fifth-graders at the Title I school, aiming to meet basic needs while boosting confidence and school pride.
Fostoria native and recently retired NFL safety Micah Hyde continues to invest in northwest Ohio youth through his foundation, which he launched in 2015 to support children academically and athletically. Teacher Jayson Schube played a key role by connecting Bigelow Hill with the opportunity and advocating for his students. Community sponsors—including Blanchard Valley Health System, Champion Shoes, The Baking Company, Aldi, AJ’s Pizza, and Buzzworthy Sourdough—helped fund, purchase, and wrap the shoes and other items, turning the event into a community-wide celebration of local kids.
