TOLEDO – Vice President JD Vance plans to hold a rally at Toledo Express Airport on Monday, Nov. 2, the day before Election Day, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said Thursday, according to WTOL 11.

The time of the rally, how the public can attend and other details had not been announced as of Thursday afternoon. Kapszukiewicz said Vance will fly on to another rally after the stop at the airport, which sits near Swanton in western Lucas County, WTOL reported.

13 Action News also reported Thursday, citing multiple sources, that Vance is expected in the Toledo area Monday for a rally supporting Republican candidates. National organizers had not confirmed the appearance or released location and timing details at the time of that report.

What is on the ballot

The visit comes in the final stretch before the Nov. 3 midterm election. Ohio races drawing attention include the governor’s race between Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton, the U.S. Senate race in which Republican Sen. Jon Husted faces Democrat Sherrod Brown, and the 9th Congressional District race between Republican Derek Merrin and longtime Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur, WTOL reported.

Vance recently spoke at a Republican rally in Monroe, Michigan, and other national figures have campaigned in the region this week, including House Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday, according to the two stations.

Voters can check their registration, find their polling place and see sample ballots through the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter information page. Polls in Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

The Fostoria Free Press will update this story when the campaign releases the rally time and attendance details.
