Commissioner Bill Frankart Reelected in Seneca County
Seneca County voters returned Commissioner Bill Frankart to office in the Nov. 3 general election.
Frankart, the Republican incumbent, received 10,195 votes, or 55.9 percent, to 8,036 votes, or 44.1 percent, for challenger David G. Ziegler, according to unofficial Seneca County results reported by TiffinOhio.net. All 51 of the county’s 51 precincts were counted.
The margin was 2,159 votes. The new term begins Jan. 1, 2027.
The three-member Board of Commissioners is the county’s chief governing body. It sets the county budget, oversees county departments and buildings and acts on matters that affect Fostoria-area residents in the Seneca County portion of the city, along with the rest of the county.
Elsewhere on the Seneca County ballot, the 0.7-mill mental health and recovery services levy renewal passed, and Seneca County voters in Fostoria backed the city’s 6-mill current-expenses renewal. County Auditor Julie A. Adkins ran unopposed and received 15,368 votes.
All results are unofficial until the Seneca County Board of Elections certifies the canvass later this month. Provisional and late-arriving absentee ballots are added during the official canvass, so final totals can change slightly.
The Fostoria Free Press will update this story when certified results are posted.
