Seneca County Mental Health Levy Renewal Passes
Seneca County voters renewed the county’s mental health and addiction services levy in the Nov. 3 general election.
The 0.7-mill, 10-year renewal passed 12,285 votes for, or 65.7 percent, to 6,426 against, or 34.3 percent, according to unofficial Seneca County results reported by TiffinOhio.net. All 51 precincts were counted.
The levy supports the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties, now known as the North Central Behavioral Health Board. The money pays for community mental health and addiction service providers and for building, maintaining and running treatment facilities in Seneca County. Because it is a renewal, it continues the same rate property owners pay now rather than adding a new tax.
The board has said the levy money stays in Seneca County. Programs it lists include crisis and mobile crisis services, outpatient and inpatient treatment, housing help, peer support and jail mental health services.
The levy was on every ballot in the county, including the Seneca County portion of Fostoria.

All results are unofficial until the Seneca County Board of Elections certifies the canvass later this month.
