FINDLAY — The Findlay Police Department logged 73 calls for service on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, according to the department’s daily media release. The most common were 18 traffic stop calls, 7 court ordered fingerprints calls and 4 harassment/threat calls. The log covers calls from 12:32 a.m. to 11:54 p.m.
Notable Calls
Warrant served at The Bank on North Main Street
At 9:31 a.m., Findlay police assisted a gaming agent who asked whether a business at 2720 North Main Street was open and whether a white Ford Edge was parked by the road. At 9:45 a.m., a special assignment note shows officers serving a warrant at The Bank at that address. A second assist call there at 10:28 a.m. was logged as help for the gaming commission / vice-narcotics unit. The release does not list who was sought or whether anyone was taken into custody on that warrant.
Threats reported at a North Main Street school
At 1:48 p.m., officers were sent to the assistant principal’s office at a school in the 1700 block of North Main Street on a report that an expelled student had made threats, including a bomb threat. A follow-up investigate-complaint call was logged at the same address at 5:52 p.m. The release does not list an arrest or any further outcome.
Three-vehicle crash at Melrose and Crystal
At 6:02 a.m., officers responded to a three-vehicle property-damage crash at East Melrose Avenue and Crystal Avenue involving a red truck, a black SUV and a blue SUV. Earlier, around 5:12 a.m., a white Ford Taurus was disabled in the 900 block of North Blanchard Street after a fail-to-control report.
Domestic calls on Hurd Avenue; person taken into custody
Starting at 8:09 a.m., officers handled related domestic calls in the 1000 block of Hurd Avenue and nearby at West Front Street and Hurd Avenue. Dispatch notes for the 8:39 a.m. disturbance show a person was taken into custody, and a later note on the Front Street report refers to arrest forms. The release does not list any charges.
Several people taken into custody on traffic and drug calls
At 10:56 a.m., a traffic stop at East Sandusky Street and East Street ended with one person detained and a vehicle towed for impound. At 11:12 a.m., another stop at Western Avenue and Washington Street also listed one person detained. At 5:34 p.m., a stop at Township Road 89 and Broad Avenue shows a person taken into custody. At 7:23 p.m., a stop in the 200 block of Crystal Avenue likewise shows a person taken into custody. At 7:02 p.m., a drug investigation in the 1200 block of Crystal Glen Boulevard shows a person taken into custody and later released to Fostoria. The release does not list any charges on these calls.
Fraud reports and a laptop theft that was later found
Three fraud reports came in: one in the 300 block of Bright Road at 8:15 a.m., where a caller said a computer had been hacked and a bank helped lock accounts with no money lost; one in the 1800 block of Westview Drive at 2:24 p.m., where the caller reported being out about $22,000; and one in the 2200 block of Quail Lake Road at 4:39 p.m. At 7:11 a.m., a laptop was reported stolen from a car in the 300 block of Lima Avenue; the caller later said it had been found.
Other calls
- Harassment and threat calls came from Clinton Court overnight (the caller wanted advice and did not want to file a report), Tiffin Avenue in the late afternoon (a customer upset about a double card charge; officers noted no direct threats were made), and Dayton Avenue in the evening (a neighbor dispute; advice was given).
- Trespass calls at a Tiffin Avenue business at 9:54 p.m. and 11:54 p.m. ended with people asked to leave without a trespass notice being issued. An earlier trespass report in the 200 block of East Lima Street turned out to be an employee doing maintenance work.
- Suspicious-activity checks included a person by a dumpster behind a North Main Street business (nothing found), two vehicles left unlocked in a U.S. 224 parking lot (no action required), and other evening checks with little or no detail in the log.
- A parking ticket was issued on Clinton Court for a truck repeatedly parked on the no-parking side of the street. A semi parked at East Bigelow and Crystal was checked; an officer said traffic was still flowing and saw no violation.
- A front-door alarm on West Hardin Street was set off by a cleaning crew that said they had canceled before officers arrived. A barking-dog complaint on Franklin Avenue found nothing. A welfare check at a Melrose Avenue car wash found someone waiting for a ride after work.
- Officers also handled 18 traffic stops (several ending in verbal warnings, including expired registration, a turn signal and lights required), seven court-ordered fingerprint sessions, four summons services, two overnight business door checks, two court-security assignments at the municipal building, and a school walkthrough.
One call was logged only as “New Call” with no notes. Calls involving juveniles, medical emergencies, mental-health crises, suicide threats and related welfare details are not detailed in this report.
Anyone taken into custody or charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
