Notable Calls
Knife robbery at Rawson Park leads to overnight search warrant, arrest
At 1:16 a.m., a man flagged down a Hancock County sheriff’s deputy near Broad Avenue and West Foulke Avenue and said he had been robbed at knifepoint about 15 minutes earlier. Dispatch notes first listed Swale Park, then corrected the location to Rawson Park near the baseball diamonds. The man said three males, one in his late 30s and two who looked 15 or 16, took his property, including a scooter and headphones. One person was detained at 1:34 a.m. Through the early morning, officers and a tactical team surrounded a home on Shinkle, an officer typed up a search warrant, and the team went in at about 4:34 a.m. after announcing the signed warrant. The log shows several people, including juveniles, were detained during the operation, and some were later released. At 6:53 a.m., an officer noted that one person was arrested for aggravated robbery, and one juvenile was listed in custody. The release does not list formal charges. The Fostoria Free Press reported on the Rawson Park aggravated robbery separately.
Business manager cited for loud music on Lima Avenue
At 12:18 a.m., a caller in the 1700 block of Lima Avenue said music was so loud it was shaking their home. An officer cited the business manager for noise, noting he had been warned by other officers earlier in the night.
Woman heard screaming “help me” turns out to be horseplay
At 6:32 p.m., a caller at Manor Hill Road and Silverstone Drive reported a woman being taken away in a gray car while screaming “help me.” An officer later found the driver, whose car and direction of travel matched the description. He told the officer he was messing around with a friend who had been on the hood of his car. The log shows nothing further.
Employee hurt in fight near West Trenton Avenue restaurant
At 5:17 p.m., a caller in the 700 block of West Trenton Avenue reported that an employee had been assaulted and that the other person ran off and drove toward Main Street in a Nissan Versa. The employee did not need medical attention. The other party later told police the employee slapped her phone out of her hand and grabbed her arm, so she hit her, and she agreed to come back to meet officers in a nearby parking lot. The release does not say whether anyone was cited.
