FINDLAY — The Findlay Police Department logged 93 calls for service on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, according to the department’s daily media release. The most common were 11 traffic stop calls, 9 special assignment calls and 6 school walkthrough calls. The log covers calls from 12:36 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Notable Calls
Caller reports texted threats to “shoot up” Hurd Avenue home
At 5:04 p.m., a caller in the 1200 block of Hurd Avenue reported harassing messages. An officer noted the caller did not want charges or a criminal report at the time, only a be-on-the-lookout notice for patrol. Just after 8 p.m., the caller phoned back to say the messages were now going to his wife and claimed people were coming from Lima to “shoot up” the house. Officers updated the lookout notice for patrol and talked with the caller about how civil protection orders and violations work. The caller still did not want a formal report or charges, and the log shows no arrest.
Rollover crash on Bright Road
At 5:15 p.m., police were sent to a rollover crash in the 1000 block of Bright Road. Notes describe a rolled-over SUV and a four-door sedan with heavy front-end damage. The release does not list any information about injuries.
Fireworks reportedly aimed at shoppers on West Trenton Avenue
At 9:05 p.m., a caller said a group of four or five middle-aged men were setting off fireworks in a store parking lot in the 1100 block of West Trenton Avenue and aiming them at people getting into their cars. The caller described a white car with a pickup-truck bed. The log does not show what officers found.
Caller targeted by fake FBI scam
At 4:46 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Liberty Street called police upset, saying people claiming to be with the FBI had gotten her personal information. An officer found she had not given the scammers any money or additional personal data and advised her to contact her bank and credit union about protecting her accounts.
Possible impaired driver hits hedges on North Cory Street
At 2:32 p.m., a caller in the 800 block of North Cory Street reported a driver in a small black SUV who hit a neighbor’s hedges and drove west through an alley. The log does not show the driver being found.
Two drivers stopped for passing school buses
Officers handled two passed-school-bus complaints during the afternoon, one in the 1900 block of North Main Street and one at Adams Street and Western Avenue, with paperwork filed through dispatch. During another traffic stop near 6th Street, a driver was cited for driving under suspension. Other stops ended in verbal warnings for riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road, expired registration and lane violations. A consent search during an early-morning stop at U.S. 68 and County Road 37 turned up nothing.
