FOSTORIA — Residents looking for help with bills, housing questions or finding the right local agency have two more chances this month to get answers in person, for free, at Kaubisch Memorial Public Library.
The Fostoria Empowerment Hub is hosting a short series of sessions in the library’s lower level, 205 Perry St., where people can ask questions, find support and connect with trusted resources, according to announcements published this week. The first session was held Friday morning, Oct. 23. Two more are coming up:
- Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1 to 3 p.m.: Libra Tedrow of United Way of Fostoria and First Call for Help will explain how First Call for Help works, what the Empowerment Hub offers and what other community resources are available.
- Friday, Oct. 30, 12:45 p.m.: Melissa Larocco of Legal Aid will talk about tenant rights and the free legal help available to renters. The announcement lists her organization as Legal Aid of Northwest Ohio.
The sessions are free and open to the public. Library details, hours and directions are on the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library website. The library can be reached at 419-435-2813.
Help with civil legal problems
Residents who cannot make the Oct. 30 session can learn about free civil legal help in the region through Legal Aid of Western Ohio, which serves low-income residents in 32 western Ohio counties and has an office in Findlay. Its intake line is 1-877-894-4599.
